shaking up the Suburbs

Hello, gentle readers!  I've been working on drawing out some events from last summer that were pretty much lifted from a bad Rom-com movie, the night I met a solid half of Davin's family for the first time.  We went out to the beachside suburb of White Rock, where Davin spent his adolescence.  It's also about 15 minutes from where I grew up, so we had shared experiences there, night swimming in the ocean and general teen shenanigans:  

mushy stuff.

I can't believe its been a year since I started dating Davin- long enough that I've learned the details of his features that make him Him, things about the way he talks and stands and how to read how he feels from the faces he makes.  this is really exciting territory for me as a cartoonist and an emotive person!
Early February was his 32nd birthday (just a baby!) and I decided to make him a little book of 32 things about him I've noticed I like.

that's not the first time I've drawn a mini gun.  

I had a lot of fun drawing this, except some of it I had to slam my sketchbook shut quickly when kids would come up to my desk at work.
